General Business Operations
gallup

Business operations personnel are responsible for a variety of tasks involving the administration of an operating budget of $16.3 million annually. Among the offices under the wing of Business Operations include

Grants and Development
With grants currently totaling $2.1 million, the Office of Grants Research is responsible for research and administration of all grants for UNM-Gallup. The Grants Coordinators research government and private sources for grants to determine if they are a proper fit for the institution. These individuals also seek and make assignments to grant writers, enter applications, and maintain contact with UNM’s Office of Pre-Awards. They also make sure the office stays in compliance with Federal regulations. The Fiscal Service Technician is in charge of maintaining accounts of all grants. Hours for OGRE are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Cashiers Office
The Cashiers’ Office is located near the entrance of Gurley Hall. The Fiscal Services Technicians can provide general information about accounts to those students who show themselves in person with a Banner ID (no phone calls). Students may also pay on their accounts at the Cashiers’ Office, including payments on tuition, admissions and fees. Hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. fall and spring, and 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the summer.

Bookstore

UNM-Gallup’s Bookstore is the major provider for all our students’ class needs, including textbooks, school supplies, including lab and art supplies. The bookstore also sells college apparel, snacks, backpacks, gift items and trade books. Hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Human Relations
The Personnel Department deals with all employment issues, and is the source for information on policies and procedures for UNM-Gallup employees. In addition the office can provide information on current jobs and potential for employment, while directing job seekers to UNM’s job site on the web. (link) Personnel is also a resource for information on employee benefits and retirement. Hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday and closed on Fridays.

Institutional Research
The college statistician supplies everyone on campus with whatever student-related data they need. Quick response to the needs of faculty and staff is the norm. Typical functions are supplying data for people writing grants, responding to external agency requests, submitting performance measure data to our legislators, and getting decision-making information to our administrators. The statistician has been heavily involved in the planning phase of the Lumina Achieving the Dream initiative, a data-driven project. For more
