Admission & Registration
Checklist

1. Admissions (GH 1136)
You must fill out a new application form if you have not been
enrolled within the last year. If you are applying for financial
aid enroll in a degree or certificate program. The only requirement
for admission to a certificate program is an application form.
Requirements for degree status are: 1) A one-time $15.00 application
fee which is a non-refundable, 2) A high school
or GED transcript(s), 3) Transcripts from any other colleges
you have attended.

2. Placement Testing (GH 2205-CASA)
Placement test in English, Reading, and Math are needed for
all new students. The tests are free and take
about an hour to two hours to finish. You will need your placement
test scores before you see an advisor.

3. Advisement (GH 1128-GH 1131)
Take your Placement Test scores or ACT/SAT scores to your advisor.
If you are in a degree or certificate program, you should meet
with your advisor before selecting your classes. Your advisor
should review your registration worksheet before you register,
every semester.

4. Financial Aid (GH 1127)
To learn about the available financial aid, visit with the
Financial Aid Advisor. There is the FAFSA form
to be completed. Processing may take several months, so apply
early! You must be in a degree or certificate program
to receive financial aid. You cannot be in "UNCLASSIFIED" status.
Complete step #1 (above) to change your status. Changes must
be made by the second week of classes.

5. Orientation (CH 1127)
New Students must attend the (mandatory) Student
Orientation. See Schedule of Classes for dates and times listed.
Transfer Students, it is optional & you should meet with
your advisor before selecting your classes.
Your advisor should review your registration worksheet before
you register.

6. Registration (GH 1210)
You will need: 1) The Advisement Check Sheet, 2) The Schedule
of Classes, 3) Placement test scores, 4) an idea of yor work
and family schedule. English and Math call numbers are available
from your advisor. Registration is available by phone 505.246.2020
or via The Web http://itel.unm.edu/ (See
registration hand our for instructions).

7. Cashiers (GH Common's Area)
Unless you have made arrangements with the Financial Aid Office
or Cashiers, you must pay for your tuition.
You will be disenrolled if payment is not received by the deadline
listed in the schedule of classes.
