The Associate of Arts degree in Human Services is designed to prepare the student to obtain a job as a paraprofessional in community agencies dealing with counseling, social work, mental health, substance abuse treatment and prevention, developmental disabilities programs and elderly services.  The program provides the student the educational background in the Human Services environment necessary for career advancement and continuation of their education toward a bachelor's degree in Human Services, Counseling or Social Work.
