Medical Laboratory Technology Program
The Associate of Science Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology is structured to address the essentials dictated by the National Accreditation Agency for Clinical Laboratory Sciences (NAACLS) and has been granted full accreditation status by NAACLS. The program has been continuously accredited by NAACLS since 1986. Articulation for the Bachelor's degree is in place. A student successfully completing the program is eligible to take the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) Board of Registry (BOR). Certification provides job opportunities in private and public health service hospitals. Students are required to meet with the MLT advisor prior to selection of courses. Admission requirements include placement with the Accuplacer (or equivalent evaluation instrument) and an interview by program staff. A grade of C or better is required in all courses. Courses can be repeated once. Students are required to complete all professional course work within a five year period.
