How to create an FSA ID
The FSA ID, which consists of a user-created username and password, replaced the PIN effective May, 2015. It allows users to electronically access personal information on Federal Student Aid Websites as well as electronically sign a FAFSA.

Prior to Oct 1
Establish your FSA ID. If you are dependent, your parent must have an FSA ID as well.
2017-18 FAFSA becomes available, complete the application with your 2015 tax and income information.
2017-18 FAFSA priority date. Complete your FAFSA by Jan 6 to be considered for priority aid. Priority aid is awarded to eligible students on a first-come first-serve basis.
Additional Documentation Submission date. Complete your financial aid file by Jan 31 to be considered for priority funding.
