Dear UNM-Gallup Community:

First, we hope that you and your family members are well as we work together through this unprecedented time. While the course of the COVID-19 Coronavirus remains uncertain, we are working to continue the mission of UNM-Gallup—and offer our students every opportunity for success in continuing their coursework during this national crisis.

We want to establish a clear timeline along with expectations for our community outlined below. Please read through this carefully as this information is critical to all as we move forward now through the end of this semester.

Campus Facilities

  • Until further notice, all UNM-Gallup operations, including classes, will operate online and remotely via UNM Learn, email, phone, and Zoom.
  • All campus facilities will be locked and secured until further notice. No buildings will be open to the public or students. Authorized employees will be allowed limited access on an as-needed basis.
  • UNM-Gallup is not closing—just facilities—as we temporarily transition our learning environments and services to online and remote access. Please refer to the resource links provided below for essential services.

UNM-Gallup Students

  • We are moving courses to an online format beginning Monday, March 23. No course currently in progress will be offered in-person through the end of this semester. If you are currently enrolled in a face-to-face course, plan to receive instructions and content via UNM Learn or email from your instructor beginning the week of Monday, March 23. The goal is to be fully functional online by Monday, April 6.
  • It’s important for you to be in contact with your instructor(s) during this transition period by email. Other campus resources are outlined at the end of this document for you. If you are unable to connect to online content, please contact UNM Learn support at or (505) 277-0857 /
  • We are ensuring that any student nearing degree completion will be able to finish.

Faculty & Staff

  • Please check your UNM email regularly for updates and guidance from our campus leadership, your chair, or your supervisor. We are working under limited operations and will release operational details—please look for a separate announcement via email and at
  • For IT support on your campus equipment, please submit a ticket at:
  • For UNM Learn technical support, go to: or (505) 277-0857 /
  • Faculty, please direct any questions to your chair—and be in direct contact with your students via email or phone.

We are a resource for each other during this time, and it’s important to remain flexible as we work to finish this semester. Let’s finish out the spring semester strong. We will do this with great effort and a sense of togetherness!
