Compass Placement Scores

You must be admitted to UNM-Gallup and have taken the Compass Placement Tests within the last six (6) months OR you must have completed all developmental courses required if you took the Compass test a long time ago.  Please attach a copy of your transcript and/or compass scores to your application.  You may get your Compass Placement Scores at the College Learning Center on the 2nd floor of Gurley Hall on UNM-G campus.

1. Admissions (GH 1136)

You must fill out a new application form if you have not been enrolled within the last year. If you are applying for financial aid enroll in a degree or certificate program. The only requirement for admission to a certificate program is an application form. Requirements for degree status are: 1) A one-time $15.00 application fee which is a non-refundable, 2) A high school or GED transcript(s), 3) Transcripts from any other colleges you have attended.

2. COMPASS Placement Testing (GH 2205-CLC, "COLLEGE LEARNING CENTER")

Placement test in English, Reading, and Math are needed for all new students. The tests are free and take about an hour to two hours to finish. You will need your placement test scores before you see the Healthcare Technician Program advisor. You can go to GH 2205 (College Learning Center, formerly "CASA") to get copies of your placement scores. YOUR COMPASS PLACEMENT TEST MUST BE WITHIN THE PAST SIX (6) MONTHS OF YOUR APPLICATION TO THE HEALTHCARE TECHNICIAN PROGRAM. IF YOURS IS OLDER THAN SIX (6) MONTHS, YOU MUST RE-TAKE THE COMPASS PLACEMENT TEST. Please ask the Compass Placement Test teacher to provide you with a copy of your Compass Placement Report and bring it with you to see the Healthcare Technician advisor to be included with your application.
