This award was supported by the "Mentorship for Nursing Careers in the Navajo Nation" project in partnership with N-NURSE, Inc. Roughly twelve students from a five-state area were chosen for the award. Two of them were from University of New Mexico Gallup's Nursing Program. The ceremony was part of a larger symposium titled, "Navajoland Nursing: Sacred Space and Caring Science."
