ACE II RN-BSN MOBILITY EXAM
The University of New Mexico offers registered nurses (RNs) an opportunity to earn credit toward the BSN degree by passing the NLN Acceleration Challenge Exam (ACE) II-RN to BSN. Although you may take the ACE II before you are admitted to the University of New Mexico, you must be accepted and enrolled in the RN to BSN degree completion option in order to receive the credit. If you take the tests after admission to the College of Nursing, you must do so by the time you have completed two terms of enrollment in upper division nursing courses.
National League for Nursing (NLN ) ACE II-RN to BSN
The NLN Nursing Acceleration Challenge Exams (ACE) II are national validation tests designed to evaluate previous learning in order to facilitate educational mobility of RN to BSN students. The ACE II was normed on baccalaureate nursing students, with the cutoff score for passing determined by individual schools.
Integrated throughout each of the tests are questions about nutrition, pharmacology, patient teaching, and interpersonal relations. Questions are presented in case situations and are written in the framework of the nursing process. At the University of New Mexico, RNs can receive 34 credits toward the BSN degree through successful completion of three test books, as described below:
