Getting your UNM LOBO I.D._
LOBO ID cards = Your ticket to clinicals |
All UNM-Gallup pre-nursing and nursing students are required to have a LOBO ID card for the entire time they are a pre-nursing and/or nursing student. A LOBO ID is what the UNM-G Nursing Assistant and Nursing faculty use to make a Clinical ID made for you. Without this important LOBO ID, the faculty cannot have a Clinical ID made for you. Therefore, it is mandatory that all UNM-G pre-nursing and nursing students get a LOBO ID card well before they begin classes! Please keep your LOBO ID in your billfold and bring it with you to pre-nursing and/or nursing classes every day. This serves as an instruction sheet as to how you can get a LOBO ID card. You can get it either in Albuquerque (Instructions #1 below) or in Gallup (Instructions #2 below). However, because the LOBO ID machine is only in Gallup twice a year, it is advisable to get a LOBO ID the next time you are in Albuquerque during regular business hours from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. |
Instructions #1: Getting a Lobo I.D. in Albuquerque
Instructions #2: Getting a Lobo I.D. in GallupThe machine that makes UNM LOBO ID cards comes to Gallup only twice a year, once at the beginning of fall semester and once at the beginning of spring semester. It is only here for about one week. It set up in Gurley Hall near the Cashier’s Office. The lines and the wait-time to get an ID here in Gallup are generally very long. The only way students know exactly when the ID-making machine is here is through flyers placed around the campus, so students need to be on the look-out for them. If you are a UNM-G student, you are eligible to get a UNM LOBO ID card. However, you must bring the same kind of ID as required in Albuquerque: government-issued form such as your driver’s license, passport, or military ID. If at all possible, even if you aren’t yet accepted into the UNM-G nursing program but are taking classes at UNM-G, you should get a UNM LOBO ID card when the machine is next here. If you have a LOBO ID card in advance of starting nursing assistant or ADN nursing school, it is much better for you. Please try to get a LOBO ID card well in advance of either nursing assistant classes and/or ADN nursing classes. Please take extra care to keep it as students need it all four semesters of nursing school. It is difficult to replace. Please see below for “Lobo Card Replacements” if you have lost your LOBO ID card.
